Happy 2013! On a warm October day we were having lunch in West Hartford Center, just up the road from our house. We ran into our neighbor, Mike Mahoney from RLM Co., who leases much of the commercial space in the Center. Got to talking about our growing interest in opening a studio, and Mike mentioned that a space was being vacated at 10 LaSalle–in the old Blue Acorn store. After nine years as a home-based business, we sensed this was the right time, right place, right opportunity so….we’re opening our first photography studio right in West Hartford Center!
It’s around the corner from Lululemon and across the street from Starbucks. Love the location, it’s a cozy space and we have the tradesmen lined up to overhaul the walls, floors, signage etc. this month. We’ve already done two shoots there (more about our upcoming personal project soon!) and I’m thrilled to say that the natural light is beautiful so we will have our choice of natural light or strobes! Planning on a “soft opening” in February followed by a bigger bash later this spring….stay tuned for progress reports this winter!
Thrilled to be interviewed by Hartford Magazine on our journey from the corporate world to full-time photography! You can read the article by clicking here or download the full pdf here.
If you are headed up north this weekend, feel free to stop by Stockbridge MA on Saturday July 2nd where our NY Mets photographs are on display at the Norman Rockwell Museum. The Museum is hosting “Play Ball!” which celebrates the Game and Rockwell’s baseball art. I will be speaking at 1p.m. about the Mets photos, which are on display in larger than life sized prints. Bring the kids and grab a hot dog with us!!
We are very excited for Co:Lab, the ad agency that designed our commercial website. They have won two 2011 Connecticut Art Directors Club (CADC) awards for their design of our website and business cards. We were attracted to them for their clean, modern look with a sense of fun. We loved working with them for their great personalities and professional manner. Congratulations Troy, Rich and Constanza!
