Several months ago Mike and I ventured to Vermont with a wonderful writer from EcoHome Magazine to photograph the recipient of the 2010 Hanley Award, Alex Wilson, for the cover and an interior feature of EcoHome Magazine. Alex is the CEO and founder of Building Green LLC, a company which helps the building industry use environmentally friendly practices. We are thrilled to see the cover and feature in print! Congratulations Alex!
Great to be a part of the CT ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers)…not only is it a wonderful group of photography professionals, but it holds some amazing programs throughout the year. Last night’s program at Yale was “Should I Be Thinking About Video” by photographer and DP Gail Mooney. It couldn’t have been more timely with the explosion of web video content, requests for B-Roll, and given all of us with our 5D Mark IIs (still cameras that shoot super sharp video with shallow depth of field options). We’ve done some pieces already for our client, the Department of Homeland Security, but it made me excited to go out and shoot a promo piece! A wonderful thing about photography…you never stop learning and there are always new ways to grow creatively.
Wonderful to see the courant.com pick up our Hartford Real Art Ways event shooting the new Impossible Project’s instant film, Silver Shade, w/an old polaroid camera. Thank you to The Impossible Project for sponsoring us!
We had a great time getting to know Stewart at our executive portrait shoot last month. Lange Brand + Design hired us to deliver a range of emotion and to show the different aspects of Stewart’s personality against a simple background. This was shot using our portable studio with Profoto lighting and a Canon 5D Mark II.
Welcome to our new site and blog! We are really excited to launch our new look. We’ll be highlighting our latest projects, personal work, and photography resources/discoveries here on the blog. Attached is a sneak peek at a test image from our upcoming personal project “30 Days of Doing the Impossible” using the Impossible Project’s new Color Shade film which we think has such a beautiful tone. Follow along on the Jane Shauck Photography Facebook page to see the the images or check back here later to see project updates…we’ll be starting the project this Monday! Special thanks to Co:Lab and Brand New for all their help and for making our team shine!
